What Really Happens When North Korean Soldiers Fight for Putin – The Truth Will Stun You!

Reports from Ukraine’s GUR military intelligence indicate that North Korean soldiers deployed alongside Russian forces are struggling to maintain morale amidst the ongoing war with Ukraine. The soldiers, initially heralded by Russian propaganda as key allies in Moscow’s campaign, are reportedly turning to alcohol as a coping mechanism during combat operations.

GUR shared on Telegram that North Korean troops stationed in Kursk engaged in heavy drinking to celebrate New Year’s Eve, a stark contrast to the disciplined image often portrayed of Pyongyang’s military. This celebration reportedly took place despite ongoing exposure to Russian state messaging aimed at boosting their resolve. The Ukrainian agency noted that alcohol abuse has been observed even among soldiers actively participating in military operations.

Significant Losses in Kursk

The North Korean contingent has faced substantial challenges since their arrival in Russia. According to GUR, these troops experienced “significant” losses during combat in Kursk between December 31 and January 1. Ukrainian forces have maintained control over key areas in the region, including the village of Ulanok near Sudzha, which Russian forces have struggled to recapture following a surprise Ukrainian offensive last August.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on December 23 that North Korean forces had suffered heavily in the conflict. “North Korea had lost 3,000 troops in conflict there,” Zelensky claimed. He further revealed that Ukrainian forces had captured “several” North Korean soldiers, though many were “seriously wounded and could not be resuscitated,” according to a report from Express US.

North Korean Reinforcements Deployed

Despite the losses, Russia has continued to deploy fresh North Korean soldiers to the front lines. These reinforcements are part of a defense agreement between Moscow and Pyongyang, signed in June of the previous year. Under this agreement, North Korea has also provided missiles and other munitions to aid the Russian war effort.

Newly arrived North Korean forces have been stationed west of Ulanok, with Russian commanders attempting to bolster defenses in the contested area. The Pentagon estimates that around 1,000 North Korean soldiers have been either injured or killed in Kursk since the deployment began.

Escalation in Regional Tensions

Intelligence from multiple sources suggests that North Korea dispatched between 10,000 and 12,000 soldiers to Russia in October to support its military campaign. This significant troop movement has raised alarms across the international community. NATO has strongly condemned the involvement of North Korean forces, calling it a “significant escalation” and warning of the potential for further destabilization.

“This marks a dangerous expansion of Europe’s largest land war since World War II,” a NATO spokesperson stated.

Growing Challenges for Russian and North Korean Forces

The war in Ukraine has proven to be a severe test for both Russian and North Korean forces. Russia, which has faced ongoing difficulties in regaining territory in Kursk, appears increasingly reliant on international support, even from unconventional allies like North Korea. However, the heavy casualties and reports of morale issues among North Korean troops suggest that this alliance is far from seamless.

As the conflict continues, questions remain about the long-term viability of North Korea’s involvement in the war and the broader implications for regional and global stability. For now, the challenges on the battlefield, combined with internal struggles among the troops, paint a grim picture for those on the front lines.
