Trump Takes Control Fast – Border Crossings Go Limp in Just One Week!

Just days into President Donald Trump’s return to the White House, the number of illegal crossings at the southern border has plummeted. On Sunday, border authorities recorded fewer than 600 illegal entries—marking a stunning decline compared to the thousands seen at the peak of the previous administration’s border crisis.

According to Fox News, just 582 people were caught attempting illegal crossings across the entire southern border. Not a single one of the nine sectors, stretching from Texas to California, recorded more than 200 crossings in a day. The most striking drop occurred in Texas’ Del Rio sector, an area that once saw as many as 4,000 daily crossings in late 2023. On Sunday, just 60 people were apprehended.

This drastic reduction follows a trend that began immediately after Trump’s inauguration on January 20. The first three days of his presidency saw daily encounters fall from 1,073 to 736, and then to 714, showcasing a steady decline. These numbers are a stark contrast to the crisis levels when more than 6,000 migrants were crossing daily.

During his inauguration speech, Trump made clear his commitment to securing the border. “We will begin the process of returning millions and millions of criminal aliens back to the places from which they came,” he declared. He also announced plans to “declare a national emergency at our southern border” and “repel the disastrous invasion of our country” by deploying soldiers.

Staying true to his promise, Trump has already sent 1,500 U.S. Army troops to reinforce the border, with discussions underway about sending up to 10,000 more. Meanwhile, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has launched aggressive operations in sanctuary cities, targeting undocumented individuals.

In just the first week of these efforts, more than 7,300 illegal immigrants have been arrested nationwide. On Sunday alone, ICE detained 1,179 individuals. The administration’s firm stance on immigration enforcement is already showing results, with officials vowing to continue the crackdown until millions of undocumented migrants are deported.

Trump’s newly appointed border czar, Tom Homan, emphasized the administration’s unwavering approach. “Our border is closed,” he stated, making it clear that enforcement will only intensify in the coming weeks. He assured the public that deportations will be carried out daily.

“You’re going to see the numbers steadily increase, the number of arrests nationwide,” Homan told ABC News. He explained that the initial focus would be on public safety and national security threats, but as efforts expand, more arrests will follow.

“So we’re going to do this on a priority [basis], that’s President Trump’s promise. But as that aperture opens, there’ll be more arrests nationwide,” he added, making it clear that no undocumented individual is exempt from enforcement.

“If you’re in the country illegally, you’re on the table because it’s not OK to, you know, violate the laws of this country,” Homan asserted.

With enforcement ramping up, the message from the administration is loud and clear: the days of unchecked border crossings are over. As Trump’s policies take effect, the dramatic drop in illegal entries signals a major shift in the nation’s immigration strategy.
