They Said It Couldn’t Be Done, But Trump’s Ultimatum Made Hamas Surrender!

Hamas has confirmed it will proceed with releasing Israeli hostages after what it described as “positive” talks with mediators, following strong warnings from former President Donald Trump that failure to comply would bring severe consequences.

The group had temporarily halted the planned hostage exchange, blaming Israel for breaking the truce. Now, Hamas says it is ready to move forward with the deal as originally agreed.

“Hamas confirms its continued position to implement the deal according to what was signed, which includes exchanging prisoners according to the specified timetable,” the group stated.

Mediators from Egypt and Qatar assured Hamas they would help resolve any issues in the agreement, encouraging the group to uphold its commitments.

This decision comes just days after Trump issued a stern warning. While signing executive orders on Tuesday, he made his stance clear: if Israeli hostages weren’t freed by noon on Saturday, “all bets were off” and “hell is going to break out.”

Trump clarified that Israel had the final say on the ceasefire, adding, “Israel can override it.”

Hamas had defended its earlier decision to pause the hostage release, accusing Israel of violating the truce by delaying the return of displaced Palestinians to northern Gaza and attacking them with gunfire and shelling. The February 15 exchange was postponed as Hamas demanded Israel “compensate for the past weeks.”

So far, five exchanges have taken place, freeing 21 Israeli hostages in return for over 730 Palestinian prisoners. The upcoming release, now confirmed by Hamas, is set for Saturday and will see three Israeli hostages freed alongside hundreds of Palestinian detainees.
