Russia vs. the US? North Korea’s Warning Could Change Everything!

North Korea has issued a blunt warning to the West, particularly concerning its ongoing support for Ukraine, stating that such actions could spark a devastating conflict with Russia.

“The Anglo-Saxons intend to push the European continent to a direct armed conflict with Russia, which is a suicidal act,” the North Korean Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Monday, echoing the remarks of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

The comments stem from Lavrov’s address on November 4, delivered at the Inventing the Future International Symposium in Moscow. The symposium, which focused on a variety of topics including innovation, culture, and diplomacy, also provided Lavrov an opportunity to criticize Western policies. In his speech, Lavrov condemned the sanctions imposed by the West on Russia and harshly criticized the U.S. and its allies for their continued support of Ukraine.

“When economic pressure fails to sway truly sovereign nations, the West, led by the United States, resorts to threats, blackmail, and even the use of force,” Lavrov stated.

He went further, drawing parallels between the current situation and World War II. “Today, the Anglo-Saxons plan to defeat our country using the Kiev regime as a proxy, just as Hitler tried to do when he rallied most European countries under Nazi banners,” Lavrov added.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Pyongyang, North Korea, on December 4, 2023. On Monday, North Korea’s government echoed comments from Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, saying that a war with Russia would be a “suicidal act” for Ukraine’s allies.

Lavrov also addressed concerns about Ukraine potentially using Western-supplied weapons to strike deep into Russian territory. He warned that this would significantly reduce the likelihood of any country involved in the conflict playing a constructive role in shaping a future “multipolar world.”

Despite these warnings, Western powers have continued to back Ukraine in its defense against Russia. The U.S. and European governments have denied Kyiv permission to use long-range weapons against Russia, fearing it could escalate the situation into direct confrontation. However, a recent report by The Telegraph suggests that UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron are pressing U.S. President Joe Biden to change this stance and allow Ukraine to use Storm Shadow missiles for long-range strikes.

The UK government, when asked for comment, denied any change in policy. A spokesperson for Prime Minister Starmer confirmed that while discussions about support for Ukraine continue, there had been no shift in the UK’s position regarding Storm Shadow missiles.

On Sunday, the Telegraph reported, citing anonymous U.K. government insiders, that the two leaders were planning to persuade U.S. President Joe Biden to give Ukraine permission to use long-range weaponry for strikes deep inside Russia.

Meanwhile, North Korea’s Foreign Ministry cited Lavrov’s statement, adding that the West, particularly the Anglo-American bloc, seems unbothered by the war it has “started in Europe against Russia.” North Korea further criticized the U.S. for expanding NATO’s military influence into the Pacific, warning that such actions are designed to increase pressure on China, North Korea, and Russia.

As Russia’s invasion of Ukraine nears its 1,000th day, Moscow and Pyongyang have deepened their military cooperation. Reports suggest that North Korean troops are now fighting alongside Russian forces in Ukraine, further strengthening the ties between the two nations.

In addition, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un recently ratified a new treaty with Russia. Signed during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Pyongyang in June, the Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership solidifies military collaboration between the two countries. Under this treaty, both nations are committed to providing military assistance if either faces an attack. Furthermore, the treaty emphasizes their shared goals of advancing a “just and multipolar new world order,” focusing on nuclear energy, trade, and economic cooperation.

This growing partnership between North Korea and Russia is likely to have significant implications for the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and the broader geopolitical landscape. North Korea’s strong rhetoric and military collaboration with Russia suggest that the conflict may not only continue but could also draw in more global players, escalating tensions even further.

The situation remains fluid, and as the 1,000-day mark approaches, the international community continues to monitor developments closely, with the potential for further escalation on the horizon.
