North Korean Troops Go All In – Their ‘Meat Grinder’ Tactic Is Brutal!

The Russia-Ukraine war has taken a shocking turn as reports surface of North Korean troops joining the conflict, employing what has been described as the “meat grinder strategy.” This unyielding approach has raised global alarm as soldiers press forward with a grim determination, seemingly undeterred by massive losses.

North Korean combatants recently took control of a key southeastern position, encircling Ukrainian forces in what appears to be a calculated trap. The move intensifies pressure on Ukrainian troops advancing into Russian-held areas, setting the stage for a potentially deadly standoff.

Aggressive Push in Makhnovka

North Korea has aligned itself with Russian forces to stage an unrelenting attack on the village of Makhnovka. Despite the ferocity of their tactics, there are indications that some North Korean soldiers may be growing weary of the prolonged conflict. However, their exhaustion has done little to curb their involvement in the brutal offensive.

In the north, Ukrainian brigades advancing toward Kursk were met with fierce resistance from Pyongyang’s forces. These clashes have highlighted the harsh battlefield strategies that North Korean troops bring to the table.

Lieutenant Colonel “Leopard,” commander of Ukraine’s 33rd “Big Cats” Separate Assault Battalion, described the horrific nature of these tactics. “The North Koreans have a ‘meat grinder’ strategy. Where Ukrainians use a mine-clearing vehicle, they just use people,” he told The Times.

The ‘Human Wave’ Strategy

North Korean forces have adopted a harrowing method of attacking Ukrainian defenses. According to Lieutenant Colonel Leopard, their soldiers walk in single-file lines through minefields, spaced just meters apart. “If one is blown up, then the medics go behind to pick up the dead, the crowd continues one after another. That’s how they pass through minefields,” he explained.

Drone footage captured the devastation, showing elderly Russian civilians being forcibly removed from their homes in Makhnovka as temperatures plummet. This brutal displacement underscores the hardship faced by those caught in the crossfire.

Heavy Losses in Makhnovka

Reports from President Volodymyr Zelensky indicate a failed Russian-led assault on Makhnovka, where a mixed battalion of North Korean infantry and Russian paratroopers suffered devastating losses in just two days. Ukrainian forces, including the Leopards battalion and the 61st Mechanized Brigade, launched a counteroffensive to reclaim the territory.

The stakes are high. If Makhnovka falls, it would deal a significant blow to Ukraine’s position in the southeast, particularly as peace talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin loom on the horizon.

Outdated Technology Hampers North Korean Troops

Despite their aggressive tactics, North Korean forces are hampered by a lack of advanced weaponry. Lieutenant Colonel Leopard noted that their arsenal is limited to small arms, machine guns, grenade launchers, and mortars. “They do not use drones yet, only the Russians. But I suspect they are starting to learn this, and the longer the war drags on, the more likely they are to innovate,” he said.

Their reliance on brute force rather than technology leaves them vulnerable, but their sheer persistence continues to pose a significant challenge to Ukrainian defenses.

A Grim Battle Continues

As both sides dig in for prolonged fighting, the presence of North Korean troops adds a grim dimension to an already devastating conflict. Their barbaric “meat grinder” tactics, combined with their relentless drive, show no signs of abating. The question remains: how much longer can such brutal methods persist in modern warfare, and at what cost?

The world watches anxiously as the conflict escalates, with each new development marking a deeper descent into violence and destruction.
