Hunter Biden’s $3 million Malibu rental home, which he claims is now “unlivable” due to devastating California wildfires, appears untouched while every neighboring house was reduced to ash.
The firestorm, which tore through Los Angeles in January, wiped out homes around Biden’s four-bedroom property, yet current photos show his residence still standing. Despite this, the president’s son insists the damage left him broke and unable to continue a lawsuit he filed in 2023.

In a court motion filed in California, Hunter, 55, detailed his struggles, stating, “Like many others in that situation, [Hunter] has had difficulty in finding a new permanent place to live as well as finding it difficult to earn a living.” He argued the wildfire made the home “unlivable for an extended period of time.”
Biden, who was living in the Malibu home with his wife, Melissa, and their son, Beau, says the disaster has left him millions in debt, forcing him to drop his laptop hacking lawsuit against former Trump White House aide Garrett Ziegler.

“So, [Hunter] must focus his time and resources dealing with his relocation, the damage he has incurred due to the fires, and paying for his family’s living expenses as opposed to this litigation,” his filing states. He also claims his financial situation was “exacerbated” by the wildfires.
Despite his financial woes, critics have raised questions about how Biden’s home managed to escape the blaze while others nearby were completely destroyed. There is no immediate explanation for why his house survived or whether it sustained hidden damage from heat and smoke.
At the time of the fires, President Joe Biden was uncertain about the fate of his son’s home. “It’s astounding what’s happening,” he said during a Jan. 8 briefing. “There’s only one piece of good news. My son lives out here and his wife. They got a notification yesterday their home was probably burned to the ground. Today, it appears that may be still standing but I’m not sure.”

Since 2021, Hunter Biden has moved between multiple luxury properties in California. He previously lived in a Venice Beach rental overlooking the Grand Canal, but the landlord accused him of leaving the $25,000-per-month home in disarray and failing to pay rent.
Biden has also accused The Post of “doxxing” his Malibu home, claiming they published aerial photos of the property on the front page. In an interview with musician Moby, he said, “The picture of the house, the address, aerial view of the house, the inside of the house from the realtor’s, you know, online offering of the house, description of where you could stand to see through the floor-to-ceiling windows on the road that we lived on.”

He also claimed that within 36 hours, “half a dozen to a dozen people, mostly men, in MAGA hats with bullhorns” showed up, pounding on his front door while his seven-months-pregnant wife was alone inside. “We moved in the middle of the night,” he said.
However, a review of archives found no record of The Post publishing his home’s address or images on the front page. There was also no evidence of the supposed MAGA protest outside his house.
Hunter’s lawyer declined to comment on the latest developments.

With his legal battles, financial troubles, and now wildfire destruction, Hunter Biden remains at the center of controversy. Yet, the biggest mystery remains—how did his home survive when everything else around it burned?
