He Kicked a Cat Like a Football, Now He’s Behind Bars – You Won’t Believe the Details!

A Texas man has been sentenced to over three years in prison for a brutal act of animal cruelty that was caught on camera. The shocking incident occurred in Beaumont, Texas, in October 2021, when Donaldvan Williams, 30, cruelly kicked a sick cat 20 feet through the air, as if attempting to score a football field goal, according to prosecutors.

The incident unfolded in the parking lot of an apartment complex, where Williams and his friend, Decorius Mire, encountered the suffering animal. Mire reportedly egged Williams on, daring him to kick the cat, which was already convulsing and foaming at the mouth, seemingly poisoned. Despite the cat’s apparent distress, Williams heartlessly escalated its pain by delivering a powerful kick that sent the cat flying through the air, prosecutors stated.

“The cat was sent flying approximately 15 to 20 feet through the air,” the indictment detailed.

Mire, not only a witness but also an active participant in the cruelty, recorded the attack on his phone. The video was later posted on his social media accounts, where it garnered attention, comments, and shares from viewers, further spreading the horrific act.

In court, both men faced consequences for their actions. Mire had been sentenced to 18 months in prison last year, while Williams received a harsher sentence of three years and four months this week for his role in the abuse. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Texas released a statement confirming the sentencing.

However, the cruelty didn’t end with the kick. Court records revealed a disturbing turn of events after Williams’ assault on the cat. A third individual, whose identity remains unknown, took the abuse further by pouring a flammable substance on the already-injured animal and setting it on fire.

“Mire filmed the live, injured cat being set on fire, and running while engulfed in flames, trying to escape from the fire,” prosecutors outlined. The footage, once again shared on social media, was viewed and commented on by numerous people.

While both Williams and Mire pled guilty to charges related to kicking the cat and filming the incident, neither man faced charges directly connected to the cat being set ablaze. According to court records, their guilty pleas stemmed only from their actions in kicking the cat and recording the abuse.

There is no clear indication of whether the cat survived the horrific attack, leaving the animal’s fate unknown.

This incident has sparked outrage, highlighting the disturbing nature of animal cruelty and the need for stricter consequences for those who harm defenseless creatures. Prosecutors hope that this sentencing sends a clear message about the seriousness of such acts, reminding people that animal cruelty will not go unpunished.
