Einstein Who? Meet the Sex Worker With a Higher IQ!

Stephen Hawking and Albert Einstein are often hailed as the epitome of human intelligence, their names synonymous with genius. Their contributions to science and our understanding of the universe have left an indelible mark on history. However, there’s another intellect who may surpass them both in raw IQ, yet whose life has taken a radically different path—Melissa Todd, a Mensa member from Hertfordshire, UK.

Melissa was just 12 years old when she took the Mensa test, securing a place in the exclusive high-IQ society. Her intellectual prowess was undeniable, earning her the nickname “Brain of Britain” from the Herts and Essex Observer. With a mind sharper than most, she seemed destined for a conventional life of academic achievement and professional success. However, fate had other plans.

In a candid interview, Melissa shared her journey. “It seems like a very long time ago now… I heard a piece on the radio, I think, like on Jeremy Vine or whatever the equivalent was then and it sounded interesting, I like tests really.” This curiosity led her to take the Mensa test and eventually secure a spot at Oxford University, where she studied Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE). But her academic journey was short-lived.

Despite her early success, Melissa found herself struggling with the pressures of university life. “Yeah, then I got a lot of A-Levels and passed the Oxford entrance exam and I went to Oxford briefly but then I went mad and dropped out, which is not uncommon among undergraduates,” she revealed. Her mental health took a toll, leading her to drop out of Oxford, a decision that would steer her life in an unexpected direction.

After leaving Oxford, Melissa took a year off to regroup. It was during this time that she stumbled upon a job advertisement in The Evening Standard. The job was for a table dancer at a local bar, and although it was far from the path she had envisioned for herself, the opportunity intrigued her. “And I really didn’t have any ideas of what to do but thought ‘that sounds fun’ and they say you’ll make £600 a night and I really desperately needed money and I like dancing, so why not give it a go?”

What started as a temporary gig quickly became something more. Melissa, who describes herself as naturally introverted, found a surprising sense of belonging in the world of adult entertainment. The glitter, the glamor, and the thrill of the nightlife captivated her, and before long, what was meant to be a summer job turned into a full-time career.

“It was just literally just meant to be a summer job, or not even that,” she said. “But you get used to being happy and rich, and you meet interesting people who say ‘why don’t you do this’, ‘why don’t you make p*rn’, ‘why don’t you go in a peep show’…and here I am 28 years later thinking ‘I’m probably not going to go back to Oxford am I?'”

Now approaching her 48th birthday, Melissa has spent nearly three decades in the adult entertainment industry. She’s traveled the world, from lavish sex parties to ‘spanking conferences,’ and has become a well-known figure in her field. Despite the misconceptions and stigma surrounding her profession, Melissa remains unapologetic about her choices. She’s also quick to dispel the stereotype that sex workers lack intelligence or agency.

“An awful lot of sex workers I know are just so bright and creative – you have to be,” she explained. “You’re constantly marketing yourself, there’s millions of us out there all trying to do the same thing, so it means you have to be different, ahead of the curve.” Melissa’s IQ, reportedly higher than that of Hawking or Einstein, is a testament to the fact that intelligence comes in many forms and can lead to a variety of life paths.

Reflecting on her career, Melissa acknowledges that her journey is far from what she once imagined. Yet, she’s content with where life has taken her. “I’m 48 next month. They’re not looking at me because my t*** are amazing – they’re looking at me because I’m kind of funny and interesting and I’ve been around for a long time… it’s a real misnomer I think.”

Melissa Todd’s story is a reminder that intelligence isn’t confined to traditional avenues. Her life, filled with both brilliance and unconventional choices, challenges societal expectations and proves that there’s no one-size-fits-all path to success.
