They Had One Job… Now the Consequences Are Coming Hard and Fast!

Hamas is under mounting pressure after failing to return the body of Israeli hostage Shiri Bibas, with a US official warning the terror group of “total annihilation” if it does not release all captives—both the living and the dead.

Adam Boehler, former special envoy for hostages under President Donald Trump, issued the dire warning just hours after the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed they had received the bodies of Bibas’ young sons, Ariel and Kfir, along with hostage Oded Lifshitz. However, one of the four bodies returned was not Bibas, leaving Israeli officials outraged.

“It’s horrific. It’s a clear violation and if I have one piece of advice for Hamas now, it’s ‘You need to release her body immediately,’” Boehler told CNN’s Anderson Cooper.

Hamas’ Deception Sparks Fury

Hamas was expected to return Bibas’ remains on Thursday during a staged handover. The group paraded the coffins through Gaza in what appeared to be a propaganda stunt. However, Israeli officials later confirmed that Bibas was not among the deceased hostages returned.

“During the identification process, it was determined that the additional body received is not that of Shiri Bibas, and no match was found for any other hostage. This is an anonymous, unidentified body,” the IDF stated.

Calling Hamas’ actions a severe violation, the IDF demanded Bibas’ remains be returned, alongside all remaining hostages. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu added that Hamas would pay a “full price” for what he called a “cruel and malicious violation” of the agreement.

The Ongoing Hostage Crisis

The Bibas family—Shiri, her husband Yarden, and their two sons—were abducted from their home in Kibbutz Nir Oz during Hamas’ October 7 attack on Israel. Initially, all four were believed to be alive, with Hamas listing them among 33 captives to be freed under a cease-fire agreement that took effect on January 19. However, intelligence later revealed the young brothers had been murdered in November.

Yarden Bibas was released to the Red Cross in February alongside another Israeli hostage, but Shiri’s whereabouts remain unknown.

US Presses for Immediate Release of Hostages

Boehler has urged Israel to press every nation with influence over Hamas to facilitate the return of all remaining hostages, including four Americans who were killed in captivity.

“If I were (Hamas), I would release everybody or they are going to face total annihilation right now,” Boehler warned.

He also questioned the terror group’s decision to return an unrelated body in place of Bibas, suggesting it could indicate a deeper cover-up.

“I don’t know what they thought when they put the body of somebody else in a coffin and said that it is the mother of two kids who had been brutally murdered,” he said. “Whether they thought Israel wouldn’t have found that or not, but it’s absolutely stunning.”

A Grim Discovery

Israeli forces confirmed that Ariel and Kfir Bibas were killed by Hamas terrorists in November, just weeks after their abduction. According to intelligence and forensic findings, the brothers were murdered with “bare hands” by a radical splinter faction of Hamas.

“You’re talking about the worst of the worst here,” Boehler said. “When you’re talking about worse than Hamas, but these are people who can brutally murder a 9-month-old and somebody who would be 4.”

With tensions rising, Israeli officials have reached out to US special envoy Steve Witkoff, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and National Security Adviser Mike Waltz for support in holding Hamas accountable.

As Israel vows revenge for the deception and demands the return of all hostages, the crisis in Gaza intensifies, leaving the world watching and waiting for Hamas’ next move.
