Hot and Raw: DOGE Nails Biden Admin Over $1.9 Billion ‘Slip-Up’!

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has uncovered a stunning $1.9 billion in taxpayer funds that had gone missing under the Biden administration. The recovered money, which belonged to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), was located just one day after HUD Secretary Scott Turner initiated a DOGE task force to tackle wasteful spending.

“$1.9 billion of HUD money was just recovered after being misplaced during the Biden administration due to a broken process,” DOGE shared on X.

The discovered funds had been designated for financial services but were never spent. According to DOGE, the task force, led by Elon Musk, worked closely with Secretary Turner to resolve the issue and release the unused funds back to the Treasury.

“It is astounding how much taxpayer money can be saved with even a small amount of effort,” Musk posted on X, adding proof of the recovered funds through attached solicitation contracts.

The contracts in question, dating back to August 2019, involved payments to Carrington Mortgage Services and Selene Finance. Carrington was set to receive $751,221,224.87, while Selene Finance would have been paid $836,689,235.84.

Turner’s Leadership Shakes Things Up at HUD

Scott Turner, a former NFL player and Dallas housing developer, was confirmed by the Senate as HUD Secretary just last week. His swift action to launch the DOGE task force seems to have already paid off.

“We will be very detailed and deliberate about every dollar spent in serving tribal, rural, and urban communities across America,” Turner said on Thursday.

“With President Trump’s leadership, business as usual – the status quo – is no longer the posture that we will take,” he added. “And with the help of DOGE, we will identify and eliminate all waste, fraud, and abuse.”

The discovery of the $1.9 billion adds to HUD’s recent efforts to crack down on financial mismanagement. Turner also revealed that HUD had already found “$260 million in savings” before the latest recovery.

Musk Applauds the Power of Efficiency

DOGE’s success in reclaiming the misplaced funds highlights the agency’s commitment to cutting government waste under Elon Musk’s leadership. Musk praised the team’s quick action and stressed that much more could be achieved with the same level of scrutiny.

Musk’s involvement, known for his drive to streamline operations, adds a business-minded approach to government accountability. His quick post on X, along with public proof of the contracts, adds transparency to the recovery process.

A Major Win for Taxpayers

The rapid recovery of nearly $2 billion in unused funds sends a strong message about accountability. DOGE’s efforts, combined with Turner’s sharp leadership at HUD, demonstrate how swiftly financial waste can be uncovered with the right focus.

As the task force continues its work, many wonder how much more taxpayer money could be saved through similar efforts across other agencies. With Turner’s pledge to pursue every dollar and Musk’s efficiency-driven approach, the fight against wasteful spending appears to be just getting started.
