In a small town in Thailand, a dog named Moo Dang has captured hearts with her unwavering loyalty. For months, the devoted canine has been waiting at a spot where she and her homeless owner used to spend their days. Even after her owner passed away late last year, Moo Dang refuses to leave the area, as if she’s still hoping for his return.
Moo Dang can often be found outside the Yamo Market in Nakhon Ratchasima, patiently lying near the entrance of a 7-Eleven store. Customers come and go, but the dog remains steadfast, a poignant symbol of love and loyalty. She sleeps there, wearing a small t-shirt to protect her from the elements.

Her owner, who was homeless and sold goods around the market, passed away in November 2024 after falling ill. His name remains unknown, but his bond with Moo Dang clearly left a lasting impact.
“For four years, I always saw Moo Dang with the homeless man until late last year when the owner passed away,” said local street food vendor Somneuk Wisetnok. “But Moo Dang refused to leave and slept in front of the convenience store all the time as if she was waiting for her owner.”
The Community Steps In
Moo Dang’s story has touched the hearts of many locals. Vendors and shopkeepers in the market have come together to care for her, providing food, water, and even vet visits. Her calm and friendly nature has earned her affection from everyone who meets her.
“Moo Dang is docile and friendly. She is loved and adored by the vendors in the market, who always bring her snacks, rice, and water,” added Somneuk. “The owner of the convenience store and the staff also take good care of her and even take her to the vet.”
Her loyalty has earned her the nickname “Hachiko of Korat,” a tribute to the famous Japanese Akita dog who waited for his owner at a train station for nearly a decade after his death.
A Symbol of Love and Devotion
Moo Dang’s story serves as a reminder of the extraordinary bond between humans and animals. While her owner is gone, the devotion she shows has not wavered.
Locals continue to honor her memory by ensuring Moo Dang is safe and cared for. Her presence outside the market serves as a touching symbol of loyalty, drawing parallels to Hachiko’s enduring legacy.
Another Tale of Canine Devotion
Moo Dang isn’t the only dog whose love and loyalty have made headlines. Recently, a mother dog in Istanbul, Turkey, showed incredible determination by carrying her sick puppy through the rain to a veterinary clinic.
The exhausted dog left her final surviving pup at the clinic’s doorstep, hoping for help. The veterinary team rushed the puppy inside and discovered it was suffering from hypothermia and a dangerously low heart rate.
“Everything is going well so far,” said veterinarian Dr. Baturalp Oghan. “The treatment for both the puppy and its sibling will continue for a little longer. During this time, we are not accepting visitors due to their health.”
The mother dog, named “Mom” by the vets, stayed by her pup’s side throughout the ordeal, checking on it as it received care. Her actions showcased the deep bond between a mother and her offspring, reminding the world of the incredible love animals are capable of.
