Sid Eudy, a towering figure in professional wrestling known by many names—Sid Justice, Sid Vicious, and Sycho Sid—has passed away at the age of 63. The news was confirmed by his son, Gunnar Eudy, on social media.

He was a man of strength, kindness, and love, and his presence will be greatly missed. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers as we grieve this loss. Details for a memorial service will be shared soon. Thank you for your support.”

The wrestling community and fans around the world are mourning the loss of this legendary figure. WWE also acknowledged his passing, stating on X (formerly Twitter), “WWE is saddened to learn that Sid Eudy has passed away. WWE extends its condolences to Eudy’s family, friends and fans.”

Sid Eudy’s career in wrestling was nothing short of remarkable. Born in Arkansas, he began his journey in 1987 with Continental Championship Wrestling under the moniker Lord Humongous. Standing at an imposing 6-foot-9, he quickly made his mark by winning the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) Southeastern Heavyweight Championship. His success continued as he teamed up with Shane Douglas to claim the NWA Southeastern Tag Team Championship.

Eudy’s career saw him make significant strides in the wrestling world. After his time with NWA and an initial stint with World Championship Wrestling (WCW), he joined WWE in 1991, then known as the World Wrestling Federation. Wrestling as Sid Justice, he quickly became a formidable opponent, challenging icons like Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania VIII and engaging in a fierce rivalry with The Ultimate Warrior.

In 1993, Sid Eudy returned to WCW, this time under the name Sid Vicious. His return was marked by a series of high-profile matches, including a memorable feud with Sting and a team-up with Vader. Despite some losses, including a WarGames match at Fall Brawl and a bout with Sting at Halloween Havoc, Sid’s presence in the ring was undeniable.

The mid-90s saw Eudy transition to the United States Wrestling Association, where he continued to showcase his wrestling prowess. His return to WWF in 1996 marked a significant moment in his career as he captured the WWF Championship twice, first by defeating Shawn Michaels and later Bret Hart. However, his reign was cut short when he lost the title to The Undertaker at WrestleMania 13.

After undergoing neck surgery in 1997, Sid Eudy’s wrestling career took a temporary hiatus. Despite brief appearances in the independent circuit, Mexico, and Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), he faced an uphill battle in returning to full-time wrestling.

In 1999, Eudy made a triumphant return to WCW, eventually winning the WCW World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Kevin Nash. However, his time in WCW came to an abrupt end before the WWF purchased the company.

Sid’s career nearly came to a devastating halt due to a severe injury sustained during a match against Scott Steiner. Attempting a move from the second turnbuckle, Eudy’s leg was shattered, leading to a near-retirement and a doctor’s grim prognosis that he would never wrestle again.

Despite the injury, Sid Eudy made sporadic appearances across various wrestling promotions until 2017, reminding fans of his enduring legacy in the sport.

The wrestling world has expressed its grief and sent heartfelt condolences to Sid Eudy’s family. His impact on the industry and the memories he created will be cherished by fans and fellow wrestlers alike.
