Texas Roadhouse is set to raise menu prices for the fourth time in two years, citing the ongoing cost of living challenges. This latest increase, which went into effect in late September, comes only eight months after the last price hike, marking the third adjustment in under a year.
The popular chain revealed in a recent press release that this price jump will add a modest 0.9% to customer bills, a smaller hike than the 2.2% increase seen in March 2024. According to Texas Roadhouse, the adjustment aims to cover rising expenses from inflation, wage increases, and higher tax rates.
“We are extremely pleased in such a competitive environment to report another quarter of continued traffic growth at each of our brands,” stated Jerry Morgan, CEO of Texas Roadhouse. “This is a credit to the hard work of our operators who create an environment where Roadies want to work and guests want to dine.”
Morgan further highlighted the company’s growth plans, noting that construction is already underway for ten new restaurants expected to open in 2025. He expressed confidence in the chain’s expansion and acquisition strategy, which aims to boost long-term shareholder value. “Looking ahead to 2025, we once again have a strong development pipeline… and overall capital allocation strategy will allow us to continue to generate long-term shareholder value,” he added.
Known for its hand-cut steaks, ribs, fresh-baked bread, and margaritas, Texas Roadhouse has become a staple in American dining, operating across 635 locations as of June 2024.

Restaurant Industry Faces Major Challenges
Across the U.S., the restaurant industry has been grappling with closures and rising operational costs. Food prices have risen by 4% since May last year, making dining out a less attractive option for budget-conscious Americans who are increasingly opting for home-cooked meals.
The impact of inflation has forced several restaurant chains to shut their doors, including household names like Red Lobster and Buca di Beppo, highlighting the challenging environment many eateries face today.
