A devoted mother of three has bravely spoken about the hurtful accusations she’s faced, with strangers mistaking her for a nanny instead of recognizing her as the mother of her youngest child.

Alex and Rob, a mixed-race couple, share three beautiful children: Chub Chub, seven, Bubba, five, and their youngest, Pudge Pudge, who is two years old. While Alex is black and Rob is white, Pudge Pudge’s appearance leans heavily toward her father’s, with a lighter complexion, prompting some to wrongly assume she is not Alex’s biological child.

In an emotional interview with Truly, Alex pushed back against the relentless comments she receives from online trolls. “We did a DNA test to prove our child is hers,” said Rob, addressing the hurtful speculation.

“When Pudge Pudge was born, she definitely looked a bit different than the rest of our children,” Rob added, recalling the initial surprise at their youngest daughter’s light skin.

Unfortunately, Alex has faced numerous incidents of racism as a result of her daughter’s appearance. Trolls online have rudely questioned her, with some asking, “Whose white baby is that?” while others outright insist that Pudge Pudge can’t be her child.

Reflecting on their journey, Alex shared that they faced struggles with fertility before becoming parents. Pudge Pudge, their youngest, was conceived through IVF, though Alex’s egg was used in the process. Still, when their daughter was born with lighter skin, the couple felt the need to clear up any doubts.

“We decided to do the DNA test because she was so light,” Alex explained. “And we did use IVF to get pregnant with her, and mistakes happen. So we just wanted to rule that out, not have to worry about it.”

The DNA test confirmed that both Alex and Rob are Pudge Pudge’s biological parents, yet this hasn’t silenced the cruel remarks. The couple continues to face judgment from strangers, with Alex recalling a particularly painful moment.

“The first time I went out with her, this older white lady… I was complimented for being a great nanny,” Alex shared. “And I was in my feelings, and I was also hurt.”

With her daughter in her arms, Alex stood firm in her identity as Pudge Pudge’s mother. “This is Pudge Pudge. She’s my daughter. I was pregnant with her. She is blood of my blood and flesh of my flesh.”
