According to reports, Amanda was walking backward while capturing shots of her friends when she inadvertently walked into the rotating propeller of a plane. The impact left her with severe injuries, and despite being rushed to the hospital, she sadly did not survive.

In a statement, a Cook Airfield spokesperson expressed sorrow over the incident, saying, “Our hearts go out to the family and friends of the young lady who died yesterday after a tragic accident with an airplane propeller on Cook Airfield. I wasn’t there when it happened, so I will not speculate on what could have or should have happened differently.”

Authorities are continuing to investigate the accident, but early reports indicate Amanda’s death is being treated as a tragic mishap.

Amanda’s loved ones have since paid tribute to her, describing her as a kind and adventurous soul with a deep love for photography and a newfound passion for skydiving. A close friend, Ashley Nicole Willard, expressed her grief on Facebook, sharing, “She was a very close family friend, so close, I would consider her a sister. A ceremony should be held in her honor or something should be always proudly displayed honoring Amanda and her love for photography and her recent passion for skydiving.”

In the wake of the tragedy, a GoFundMe campaign has been set up to help cover funeral expenses. The page, set up by Abbey Charboneau, lovingly reflects on Amanda’s vibrant spirit: “Amanda Gallagher was kind, adventurous, creative, and beautiful inside and out. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend and will be greatly missed.”

The tribute goes on to note that Amanda passed away while pursuing her passions. Abbey wrote, “On October 26th, Amanda passed away in a very sad accident, doing what she loved, skydiving and taking pictures! As her family processes through this tragic accident, they could use your help covering the funeral expenses. Please consider helping them out and also keeping them all in your prayers.”

The fundraising campaign has so far raised nearly $6,000 out of its $12,000 target, with donations pouring in from 65 generous individuals.
