As traditional conservatives survey the current state of President Joe Biden’s administration, a mix of frustration and a sense of grim vindication likely pervades. The reality is unsettling: faced with the choice between inactivity and the active pursuit of Biden’s agenda, many would argue that the nation is better off with the former.
In a striking display of disbelief, President Biden’s weekly schedule made waves across social media, courtesy of Tom Bevan, Co-Founder and President of RealClearPolitics. Bevan didn’t mince words when he described the president’s itinerary as “truly absurd.” His post on X (formerly known as Twitter) quickly went viral, amassing over 224,000 views by late Thursday morning.
“Any employee or CEO who did [this] would be fired. Biden is the leader of the free world working 10 hours a week,” Bevan wrote, encapsulating the frustration many Americans feel.
The schedule itself seems almost beyond belief. For instance, Biden’s Tuesday and Wednesday were filled with… absolutely nothing, save for a daily briefing. What’s more, his “workday” begins at the leisurely hour of 10 a.m. each day. If this were a corporate setting, such a lack of productivity would likely result in immediate termination. But in the case of the leader of the free world, it’s merely another week.
Biden's schedule this week is truly absurd. 1 phone call on Monday. Nothing Tuesday or Wednesday. 1 phone call and a ceremony on Thursday & then off to the beach house.

Adding to the absurdity, Biden’s first scheduled business on Thursday didn’t occur until 12:30 p.m., when he was set to have a call with Democratic Governor Josh Green of Hawaii to commemorate the anniversary of the tragic Maui wildfires. This particular engagement could not help but dredge up memories of Biden’s infamous “no comment” response to a question about the Maui fires in August 2023, a moment that many found deeply insensitive.
Furthermore, who could forget the painfully long delay before Biden finally ended his vacation and made the trip to Maui, where his response to the tragedy was criticized as self-centered and tone-deaf? In a speech meant to console, he instead shared unrelated stories about himself, much to the chagrin of those affected by the disaster.
But perhaps the most galling aspect of Biden’s weekly schedule is the vacation he has planned for Thursday evening. At 5:00 p.m., the president will depart for another break in Rehobeth Beach, Delaware. The question on many Americans’ minds: a vacation from what, exactly?
Since his abrupt withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race — a decision that remains unexplained — Biden has kept a notably low profile. His lack of public presence has been stark, especially following his disastrous debate performance on June 27. That night, even the establishment media appeared to finally acknowledge the president’s cognitive struggles, fueling speculation that Biden is being quietly ushered out of the political arena.
For traditional conservatives, this development is a double-edged sword. On one hand, it’s infuriating to witness a politician who has spent decades entangled in the federal government now coasting toward retirement, all while significant issues like border security and global conflicts loom ominously.
On the other hand, an inactive Biden might be the lesser evil. The fear of what an active, engaged Biden administration could mean for the country leads many to prefer the status quo of inactivity. After all, a president who remains insulated from action is, at the very least, not causing further harm.
Yet, this entire spectacle raises serious concerns about the state of American self-governance. If the president — the person Americans supposedly elected to lead — is not actually functioning as president, then who is? This question is at the heart of the disillusionment many conservatives feel. The idea that the leader of the free world can spend his days largely disengaged from the pressing issues of the nation is troubling, to say the least.
In the end, Biden’s presidency, as reflected in his weekly schedule, seems to be a far cry from the vigorous leadership many expect from the office. Whether through inactivity or incompetence, the current state of affairs is leaving many Americans, particularly conservatives, questioning the future of the country under his leadership.
